Avaya and Nortel Update

On January 19, 2010 Avaya officially released the products and portfolio map for

the integration of the Nortel solutions with Avaya’s solutions.

Avaya’s executives have created a blend of the best solutions from both
portfolios in order to move ahead with a comprehensive package for client
solutions. Existing Nortel customers will be able to purchase both company’s
existing products for the next 12 to 18 months. They will also be able to receive
support on these products for the next five years as well. Following this transition
period Avaya will have a clear and well defined migration path for clients to
follow in order for them to operate with the latest technology and support
offerings.

“We definitely overlap in a number or areas, but we found we have strengths in
different components and we’ve been able to bring those strengths together to
accelerate our growth.” said Alan Baratz, senior vice president and president for
Global Solutions at Avaya.

Avaya has also announced a policy of nine months advance notice to all End Of
Sale announcements with service commitment for at least six years following the
EOS announcement. There will be no more planned EOS announcements in 2010.
The Avaya plan includes a reduction in the number of current telephony offerings
for small and midsize enterprises. This product portfolio adjustment will be
implemented over the next 18 months. Any Nortel or Avaya products that are
deemed “End of Sale” will be supported for at least six years from the official
notice date. The key element moving forward will be SIP (Session Initiated
Protocol). Adding an essential SIP layer into the communications hierarchy will be
accomplished with Avaya Aura. This is the SIP based communications platform
that will be integrated into the communications infrastructure.

Avaya has also announced the preservation of the existing Nortel Data portfolio
offerings. This includes the Ethernet Routing Switches (ERS), Contivity, wireless
networking and more.

Welcome to our Blog

OK here it is. The first blog on our newly updated and launched web page. We build and supply network solutions for clients, plain and simple. On the surface it sounds simple and easy to do. In the background there is considerable effort on multiple facets to deliver on our commitments.

The background elements are transparent to our clients, in order to produce the required results. We have to manage those on our own for our business to operate in a smooth and reliable manner. The foreground elements are what the client will experience while dealing with any one of our engineers, account managers, office administration personnel, and myself. The human experience is a key component to building relationships. We are all professionally trained in our own areas of expertise, highly focused on customer satisfaction, and willing to deliver on our collective commitments. This personal touch approach is what we will build upon as we strive to expand our customer base and become a premier source for current and new potential clients.

The choices and requirements for networking solutions are quite expansive. We are presently dealing with technology solutions for legacy applications that have been in service for upwards of twenty years, and new applications on new technologies, such as 802.11n, that are recent industry standards . In our solutions and applications development process we analyze as many factors as we can to engineer the appropriate solutions. This is then conveyed to the potential client for acceptance and approval. The process still has to move forward to budgeting, pilot project, acceptance, roll-out to production, and then final customer acceptance. At any point along this path, requirements and specifications can change. This is where the human element is the required key to this process.

We will work cohesively as a team to produce the best results for our clients in the most efficient and cost effective manner. The ultimate goal is a repeat customer, and a customer reference. Customer satisfaction is at the core of our processes, and why we do what we do as a team.
